This Privacy and Cookie Policy (“Policy”) describes how Wellcoda UK Ltd, doing business as SellCarAdvisor.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using our Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

• Quote Requests: Name, email, phone number, city/zip code, and vehicle details (year, make, model, VIN, mileage, condition, and vehicle photos only — we do not collect facial images or any biometric data).
• Account Data: Email address and authentication method (magic link or OAuth). We do not store passwords.
• Marketing Opt-In: Email address collected only with your affirmative consent.
• Story Submissions: Written stories, photos, and email address (used only to deliver rewards).
• Support Communications: Messages and contact information you send us.

• Usage Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on site, and referral URLs.
• Session Recordings and Heatmaps: Microsoft Clarity records mouse movements, clicks, and scrolls to help us identify usability issues. Sensitive input fields are masked by default.
• Cookies and Similar Technologies: See Section 5 for details.
• Approximate Location: Derived from your zip code and IP address. We do not collect GPS or precise location data.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial or banking information, health data, biometric data, or precise GPS location.

• Providing the Service: Matching your vehicle with car buying partners and displaying offers.
• Transmitting to Quote Partners: When you submit a quote request, your contact and vehicle information is immediately transmitted via secure API to typically 3 to 10 car buying partners.
• Communications: Service-related emails (quote notifications, account verification) and, with your consent, marketing emails.
• Analytics and Improvement: Understanding usage patterns and improving usability.
• Security: Rate limiting, fraud detection, and abuse prevention.
• Automated Matching: Our quote-matching process is fully automated. You may contact us to request human review of how your data was shared.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights.

When you submit a quote request, we share your name, email, phone number, zip code, and vehicle details with our car buying partners. Partners contact you directly with offers and control your data under their own privacy policies. Once transmitted, we cannot retrieve, modify, or delete your data from their systems. To manage data held by a partner, contact that partner directly.

We use trusted third-party infrastructure providers to host, process, and deliver our Service. These providers act on our behalf and are contractually required to protect your data. We also use Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, and Bing Analytics for usage analytics.

We do not sell or share your personal information with data brokers or advertisers. Sharing occurs only with car buying partners to fulfill your quote requests and with affiliate tracking partners for commission attribution.

We may disclose your information in response to a valid legal process or to protect our rights, property, or safety. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

Your data is stored in the United States by our trusted infrastructure providers. Retention periods are as follows:

• Account and vehicle data: Personal identifiers (name, email, phone) are deleted upon a verified deletion request. Vehicle details may be retained in anonymized form for analytics and are no longer associated with you after deletion.
• Quote transmission logs: Retained for up to 90 days for technical error resolution, then deleted.
• Marketing email address: Retained until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics data: Per provider policies (Google Analytics: up to 26 months; Clarity: approx. 13 months).
• Story submissions: Until the campaign ends.
• Anonymized data: May be retained indefinitely and is not subject to deletion requests.

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, passwordless authentication, row-level database security, and IP-based rate limiting. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users by email without unreasonable delay and in compliance with applicable state law timelines. We will also notify relevant regulatory authorities as required and provide guidance on protective steps you can take.

Our Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 who access our Service do so without our authorization. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us at privacy@sellcaradvisor.com and we will delete it promptly.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They help websites remember your preferences and understand how you use the site.

By submitting a quote request form, you are providing your prior express written consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Consent language is displayed to you at the point of form submission on our website. By submitting, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Your name, email, and phone number will be transmitted to our car buying partners.
• Those partners may contact you by telephone, autodialed call, prerecorded message, or text message (SMS/MMS) regarding their offers and for marketing purposes, even if your number appears on a Do Not Call registry.
• Standard message and data rates may apply.
• You are not required to consent to calls or texts as a condition of receiving any service.

To opt out of partner calls or texts, reply STOP to any partner message or contact the partner directly. We do not call or text you directly.

• Access: Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
• Correct: Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format (JSON or CSV).
• Opt Out of Marketing Emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any email we send. Honored within 10 business days.
• Opt Out of Partner Data Sharing: Do not submit a quote request. For data already transmitted, contact each partner directly.

• Email privacy@sellcaradvisor.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request.”
• Include the email address associated with your account.
• We will verify your identity and process your request within 45 days.
• Deleted: your account, vehicle data, quote history, and marketing email address.
• Retained: technical logs (up to 90 days), anonymized data, and data already transmitted to partners (which we cannot retrieve).

Under the CCPA and other state laws, transmitting your data to car buying partners may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. To opt out: do not submit a quote request form, disable non-essential cookies via your browser or Global Privacy Control, or email us at privacy@sellcaradvisor.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell My Data.”

Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Tennessee, Iowa, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nebraska, Maryland, Minnesota, and any other state that has enacted or may in the future enact a consumer privacy law granting similar rights, have the right to know what data we collect, correct or delete their data, opt out of automated profiling, and appeal any denied privacy request. To submit a request, email privacy@sellcaradvisor.com with your name, associated email address, a description of your request, and your state of residence. We will respond within 45 days. If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing us with the subject line “Privacy Request Appeal.” We will respond to all appeals within 45 days of receipt and will inform you in writing of the outcome and the reasons for our decision.

Non-Discrimination: We will not deny you access to our Service, provide a degraded level of service, or otherwise penalize you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

• California Shine the Light: Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents may request a list of all third parties to which we have disclosed certain personal information during the preceding year for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, email privacy@sellcaradvisor.com with the subject line “Shine the Light Request.”
• Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers or precise geolocation) as defined by US state laws. We therefore do not offer a “Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information” option, as no such processing occurs.

California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit privacy requests on their behalf. We will require verification that the agent has been authorized by the consumer.

We collect identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address), vehicle information (year, make, model, VIN, mileage, condition), internet activity (pages visited, session recordings), and location data (zip code and approximate IP-based location). We share identifiers, vehicle information, and location data with car buying partners to fulfill quote requests, and internet activity data with affiliate tracking partners for commission attribution. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, financial data, health data, or biometric identifiers. We do not sell data to brokers or advertisers.

We offer rewards such as gift cards in exchange for story submissions. The value of any reward reflects the reasonable cost of providing it and the promotional value of the content to our business. Participation is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time by contacting privacy@sellcaradvisor.com.

Our website links to third-party sites, including car buying partners. We do not control these websites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last Updated” date and, for significant changes, by email notification to registered users.
