Is the offer lower than going to the buyer directly?
No. You get the same offer as going to the buyer yourself. Buyers pay Sell Car Advisor a referral fee, so comparing offers here costs you nothing.
Which buyers make offers through Sell Car Advisor?
Peddle, Wheelzy and CashForCars make offers you can accept through the form, and all three buy cars that don’t run. Carvana’s estimate shows beside them for comparison, but you can’t accept it through the form.
Can I get offers for a car with no keys or a blown engine?
Yes. Buyers on the form make offers on cars without keys and on cars with a blown engine. Answer on the form that the keys are missing or that the car doesn’t start, and the offers reflect it. Some buyers need the engine and transmission still in the car.
Can I get offers for a junk, accident-damaged or totaled car?
Yes. Buyers on the form buy cars with any amount of damage, up to totaled cars that can’t be driven, and cars with missing parts. The form asks about the damage, and the offers reflect it.
How do I get paid?
At pickup, in exchange for the signed title and the keys, usually by check. Some tow drivers pay cash, and some buyers can pay by bank transfer, which takes 1 to 3 business days.
How does pickup work?
The buyer tows the car for free from wherever it is, such as your home, work or a repair shop, so you don’t need to drive it anywhere. You book the pickup time with the buyer after you accept the offer.
What does the form ask for?
The car, its condition and the title, then your name, email, phone and ZIP code.
Do I have to accept an offer?
No. Getting an offer doesn’t commit you to selling. Some buyers keep emailing their latest offer until you cancel the request.
Do the buyers charge fees?
No. None of the buyers on the form takes a fee off the offer.
Can the offer change at pickup?
Only if the car doesn’t match what you entered. The buyers pay the offer you accept as long as everything you entered is accurate, and can lower it at pickup if the car doesn’t match. Describe the condition and the title as they are.
