The bottom line: Peddle buys cars in any condition, including cars that have been in an accident, have a blown engine or are simply junk. It operates nationwide and tows the car away for free, usually within 24 to 48 hours of scheduling, sometimes the same day.
Choose it for a car that would put off private buyers, such as one with a salvage title or mechanical problems.
If your car runs well and has no mechanical damage, you’ll likely get more through a private sale.
The offer can change at pickup if the driver finds the car doesn’t match what you described, so describe it exactly.
In our test of three problem cars, Peddle’s offers came within $36 of Wheelzy’s and CashForCars’. In a larger test of 145 junk and damaged cars, Peddle gave an instant online quote on every one.
Sell Car Advisor’s comparison tool gets you several instant offers at once, Peddle’s among them, so you can see whether another buyer beats it.

How Does Peddle Compare to Alternatives?
We tested Peddle against Wheelzy and CashForCars in January 2026. We requested quotes for three different cars to see how they compare when you need to sell a car with problems.
The differences stayed small, $36 at most.

2014 VW Touareg with 120k miles and salvage title: $2795
2014 Ford C-Max with 210k miles and salvage title: $570
To see how these instant offers compare with the broader market, we checked the private-party value of one of our test cars on Kelley Blue Book.
Kelley Blue Book valued the non-running Trailblazer at $600 for a private party sale. The instant cash offers ranged from $355 to $375. So you’d give up roughly $225 to $245 by using any of these services.
For that difference you get free towing, payment at the door, and no search for a private buyer who wants a car that won’t start.

How Does Peddle Work?
1. Getting a Quote
Takes about 2 minutes. Visit Peddle’s website or call (833) 391-2352 with your make, model, year, and mileage.
Your quote stays good for seven days, which gives you time to compare other buyers.
2. Accepting the Offer
Peddle takes clean, salvage and junk titles. It won’t take a car with a loan still on it or an active lease.
3. Document Preparation
You need the title. The driver may also ask for a photo ID, so have one ready. If several people are on the title, every owner signs it at pickup. If one of them can’t be there, arrange with Peddle before pickup day for them to sign ahead. Peddle tells you about any extra paperwork your state requires.
If you don’t have a title, you can say so on Peddle’s form and still get an offer, or get a replacement from your local DMV.
4. Pickup Scheduling
After you accept an offer, Peddle arranges for a local tow company to pick up your car. Have these ready:
- Title
- All keys and remotes
- Valid ID
The carrier contacts you within 1 business day to book the pickup, and most pickups happen within 24 to 48 hours of booking. Timing depends on where you live and when you’re available. Expect a window of several hours, not a precise time.
5. Completing the Sale
The driver shows up and:
- Checks that your car matches what you described online
- Helps finish title paperwork
- Hands you a company check, Peddle’s standard payment
- Loads your car onto the truck
The whole pickup takes 20 to 30 minutes. You don’t need to clean anything. The driver makes sure you grabbed all your stuff and helps with license plates based on your state’s rules.
Heads up: Charge the battery before pickup so the dashboard shows the mileage. Sellers report price cuts at the door when it won’t light, even on cars sold as not running. Refuse a lower price before the car is loaded, then contact Peddle about your original quote.
How Much Can You Get?
Peddle’s offer depends on a few factors:
| What Peddle looks at | What it does to the offer |
|---|---|
| What cars like yours sell for now | Sets the starting figure, so age and mileage count through it |
| Where you live | Demand from buyers in your region moves the offer up or down |
| Whether it starts and drives | A car that starts and drives on its own battery and keys gets more |
| Damage and missing parts | Lower the offer. A major part found missing at pickup brings a new, lower offer |
| New or aftermarket parts | Don’t raise the offer |

Does Peddle Give Good Offers?

Common Questions About Selling Car to Peddle
How long does Peddle take to pick up your car?
Once you accept, Peddle’s tow company contacts you within one business day to set a time. Pickup typically comes 24 to 48 hours after scheduling. Same-day pickup is possible when the tow company for your area has room that day.
Peddle gives you a pickup window of about 4 hours, not a set time. The pickup itself takes 20 to 30 minutes once the driver arrives.
Can I sell a non-running vehicle?
Yes. Peddle buys cars that won’t start, have a blown engine or a failed transmission, and junk, wrecked and salvage-title cars, with no age or mileage limit.
Answer its starts-and-drives question the way Peddle defines it, because the driver checks it at pickup. A car that needs a jump, stalls, or has a blown engine or a dead starter or fuel pump “doesn’t start”. One with a transmission fault, an oil or coolant leak, misfires, limp mode or overheating “starts but doesn’t drive”.
How does payment work?
The tow driver pays you at pickup, before the car leaves, usually with a Peddle company check. Some drivers pay cash, but it isn’t guaranteed.
Before the truck goes, check that the amount in words matches the figures. Then call the number printed on the check before you deposit it, to confirm the funds are there, because that line can’t confirm them once you’ve deposited. If a bank refuses the check, Peddle support can send a bank transfer instead.
If no one will be home at pickup, Peddle can mail a check or pay by bank transfer instead.
Can I sell a car with a loan?
No. Peddle buys only a car you own outright, so you pay off any loan or lease first.
How firm are the online quotes?
Firm once you accept it, if the car matches what you described. Before you accept, the offer can move with what Peddle’s buyers are paying that day, and changing an answer, the ZIP code or a VIN that decodes to a different car gives you a new offer.
What happens if I need to cancel?
You can cancel for free until the car leaves. Log in to your Peddle account and select Cancel this sale. Once the truck has gone, Peddle charges about $66 for the tow, and the auction buyer adds a $50 fee and the cost of towing it back.
Will Peddle match competitor offers?
No. Peddle doesn’t negotiate: the offer you get is its highest.
How do I prepare for pickup?
Remove all personal items, take off license plates, and gather all keys and remotes. Make sure a tow truck can reach your car without obstruction.
What areas does Peddle serve?
All 50 states, but not Canada or Mexico.
Do I need to be present for pickup?
Often not. If the titled owner signs the title beforehand and you tell the tow company, someone over 18 can hand over the car, and some tow companies can collect it unattended.
What does Peddle do with the cars it buys?
Peddle sells it on to one of its buyers, who may resell it, sell it for parts or scrap it. Peddle doesn’t tell you which.
The buyer moves the car out of your name, but that can take months, so file your state’s release of liability the day of pickup and keep the bill of sale Peddle emails you.
Is Peddle a reputable company?
Yes. Peddle has bought more than 4.5 million cars, and it pays you at your door before the car leaves. It has 4.7/5 on Trustpilot from 214,087 reviews and 4.5/5 on Google.
A local tow company does the pickup for Peddle, so how punctual the driver is depends on your area.
Does Peddle tow for free?
Yes. Towing is free whether the car runs or not, and nothing comes off your offer for it.
Peddle doesn’t pay impound, storage or tow-yard fees to get the car out before pickup, or a notary’s fee if your state needs the title notarized. A check-cashing service’s fee is yours too, so deposit the check at a bank instead.
What is Peddle’s BBB rating?
A+. The complaint sellers file most is a lower price at pickup, mostly on cars that wouldn’t start or whose dashboard was too dead to show the mileage, so charge the battery before pickup day. Peddle replies to almost every BBB complaint, usually within a day.
