I want to take the guesswork out of selling your car. I analyze market data, decode DMV title laws, and test out online car buyers to give you a straight answer on whether it's worth holding out for a higher price or if you're better off taking the most convenient offer and moving on.

The bottom line: Peddle and Wheelzy both buy cars in any condition, including junk, damaged, or those with mechanical issues.

We tested both services with 6 vehicles across 2025 and 2026. Wheelzy offered more in 4 out of 6 tests. Peddle won once and one was a tie. The gaps ranged from $7 to $49.

In a bigger test of 145 junk cars, Wheelzy offered more than Peddle on 59 of the 63 cars it quoted online. On the other 82 cars, Wheelzy asked for a phone call instead of giving a number. Peddle gave an instant quote on all 145.

For older cars with salvage titles or mechanical problems, both services work well. Wheelzy will match competing offers if you show them proof. That makes getting quotes from both worth your time.

Neither service pays well for newer cars in good condition. Both work best for vehicles most other buyers reject.

Peddle vs. Wheelzy: 145-Car Test

Between February and April 2026 we requested quotes from both companies for 145 junk and damaged cars. Each car went to both sites with the same details.

Wheelzy gave an instant online quote on 63 of the 145 cars. It offered more than Peddle on 59 of those 63, by $5 to $133. Peddle offered more on the other 4.

Every Wheelzy instant quote fell between $409 and $501, no matter the car. Peddle’s quotes on those same 63 cars ranged from $265 to $610.

On the other 82 cars, Wheelzy’s site asked for a phone call to confirm the car’s condition before giving a number. Peddle quoted all 82 instantly, from $135 to $4,245. That group included every bad transmission car, every flood and fire car, and 4 of the 5 cars with over 200,000 miles.

So who offers more depends on which group your car lands in. If Wheelzy quotes it online, Wheelzy usually offers more. If Wheelzy asks you to call, get Peddle’s number first and use it when Wheelzy calls back.

Car Condition Wheelzy Peddle
Won’t start (5 cars) Quoted 2 of 5 online, offered more on both Quoted all 5, $355 to $1,405
Bad transmission (5 cars) Phone call on all 5 Quoted all 5, $485 to $1,875

Peddle vs. Wheelzy: Detailed Comparison

Peddle quotes stay good for 7 calendar days. Wheelzy quotes also last 7 calendar days. This gives you time to get quotes from other junk car buyers and compare your options.

Both companies pick up cars nationwide for free. Pickup happens within 24 to 48 hours after you accept. Wheelzy moves a bit faster in some areas, with same-day pickup available in many cities.

Looking at our 2026 tests, the differences were small. On the Honda Accord, Peddle offered $34 more. On the Trailblazer, Wheelzy beat Peddle by $7. The Subaru was a tie at $385 each. In our 2025 tests, Wheelzy won all three by $26 to $49.

Both can lower offers at pickup if they find problems you didn’t mention online. Common issues include scratches, torn seats, worn tires, or missing catalytic converters. Be honest about your car’s condition to avoid surprise changes when the driver shows up.

The key difference is price matching. Wheelzy will match competitor offers if you show them proof. Peddle has no official price match policy, though some sellers report success asking anyway. If you have a better offer from CarBrain or CashForCars, Wheelzy gives you more room to negotiate.

Where to Sell Your Car?

Wheelzy wins for most sellers with junk or damaged cars. They offered more in 4 out of 6 vehicles we tested. Their price matching policy means you can use other quotes to get a better deal.

Peddle works better if you have a car with major missing parts like an engine or transmission. They’re also easier to work with if you don’t have a clear title. In our tests, Peddle beat Wheelzy on the Honda Accord with a salvage title by $34.

Neither service makes sense for newer cars in good shape. Check other online car buyers for those.
